Grower Accountant/Office Manager
Job Description:
JV Farms is an established agricultural company that grows lettuce, broccoli, and other intensively farmed vegetable crops. We are currently looking for a Grower Accountant/Office Manager in Soledad, CA. This individual will be responsible for journal entries, performing calculations, problem solving and general ledger account research. The ideal candidate will ensure that relationships are maintained and developed with vendors and customers. This person will have experience tracking planting/harvest Crop Schedules, producing and analyzing various management reports, and making recommendations on loan advances. The ideal candidate will have worked in a produce accounting/administrative role in the past.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Maintain and generate financial reports
Review equipment cost allocations.
Prepare journal entries.
Provide cost analysis.
Support the annual planning process.
Report to outside agencies.
Perform various clerical duties to include filing, invoicing, and account reconciliations.
Collection calls on outstanding receivables
Managing cash flow
Ordering and purchasing supplies.
Other accounting and clerical support as required.
Qualifications:
Produce accounting/office experience
Professional and friendly attitude is essential
Knowledge of general ledger accounting with experience using Windows and MS Office (particularly Excel), Famous (not required but considered a strong plus)
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain organized files
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
