Family, Friends, and Neighbor Promotor (Req# 484)

Position Summary:
This position will provide direct services in the homes of licensed exempt providers which may include Trustline Providers, non-subsided relatives, friends, neighbors, relatives, nannies, and baby sitters who have children ages 0-5 in their care. The role of the (FFNP) will be to serve as a resource for parents and licensed exempt providers in the areas of Child Development. Best practices and ensuring that they meet Health and Safety Standards. FFNP conducts assessments with each exempt provider to determine their strengths and needs and assists with the development of an individual basic training plan.


Responsibilities & Duties:
1.?Plan and develops an individual training program for each licensed exempt provider: this will include establishing a caring professional relationship and climate of mutual trust and respect for the exempt provider.
2.?Complete a weekly 60-90 minute home visit with each exempt provider.
3.?Provide guidelines to each exempt provider on age appropriate early childhood experience for all children, birth to five years, with the emphases on the parent at the child?s first teacher.
4.?Works with each licensed exempt provider to strengthen their knowledge of child development, including planning and conducting child education activates which meet the child?s intellectual, physical, emotional, and social needs.
5.?A. Conduct exempt provider orientation twice a month in English or in Spanish. During these orientations there will be a focus on Health and Safety training.?
????B. Provide bi-monthly socialization play groups.
6.?Will determine the T&TA needs of the provider by designing a survey that will be mailed to all of the exempt providers.
7.?Assist each exempt provider in strengthening their knowledge of community resources and support the providers in problem solving.?
8.?Assists in the development of goods and objectives for each exempt provider.
9.?Will track document and maintain records of all services providently this position. And reports information to their supervision on a monthly basis and copy to our funding source.?
10.?Will write PSA?s and press releases and conduct interviews with local media following CAPSLO?s protocol.
11.?Able to use positive interview and engagement skills to encourage providers to accept program services that are being offered by the FFNP. ?
12.?Attend trainings, workshops, and other meetings as required by the area manager.
13.?Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements:
B.A., B.S. or AA degree in Social Science, Family Studies, Human Development, Health Education, Teaching, Psychology or related field, or combination of education and experience (community outreach) equal to five years.


Other Requirements:
1.?Must be self-directed and work under limited supervision.
2.?Must have strong supervisory/coordination skills.
3.?Must have experience providing training, workshops, and facilitating groups.
4.?Must be aware of cultural values, traditions, roles and sensitivities regarding family dynamics, health, and sexuality issues in the Hispanic community.
5.?Must be able to relate to all members of the community regardless of ethnic, racial, religious or socio-economic background.
6.?Must have effective communication, facilitation, organization, and public speaking skills.
7.?Must have knowledge of community, media and public relations resources.
8.?Must have dependable, insured transportation and valid California driver's license (mileage reimbursed) and acceptable driving record.? A DMV printout and proof of insurance will be required.
9.?Must have basic computer skills (word processing).
10.?Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one's duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices; and act in such a manner as to assure at all times maximum safety to one's self, fellow employees, clients and children.
11.?Must complete all background requirements: livescan acknowledgement of child abuse reporting responsibility, criminal record statement and receive satisfactory clearance from all licensing and investigative authorities.? Employment is contingent upon receiving a clearance from appropriate authorities.


Physical and Environmental Requirements:


Position requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, twisting, and bending. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Simple grasping and hand manipulation required, as well as reaching above and below shoulder level.? Requires working indoors in temperature-controlled environment with some exposure to copier and printer chemical/fumes.




Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
